Our Evidence-Based Treatment Approach
Four progressive phases of care designed to address root causes, restore function, and build lasting resilience — all within your home.
Treatment That Goes Beyond the Symptom
Great physical therapy doesn't just chase pain — it addresses the underlying movement dysfunction, tissue restrictions, and neuromuscular patterns that created the problem in the first place. Our approach is systematic, individualized, and designed to produce lasting results rather than temporary relief.
Every patient is different. While our four-phase framework guides our clinical reasoning, the specific techniques, pacing, and emphasis will always be tailored to your unique presentation, goals, and tolerance.
Decrease Soft Tissue Restrictions
Before we can retrain movement patterns, we need to address the areas of tightness, adhesion, and restriction that are limiting your range of motion and contributing to your pain. Using skilled manual therapy, we restore mobility to the tissues that need it most.
Techniques Used
- Therapeutic massage
- Myofascial release
- Trigger point therapy
- Pain referral pattern targeting
- Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)
- Cupping therapy (when indicated)
Expected Outcome
Reduced pain, improved tissue extensibility, and preparation for active rehabilitation.
Lengthen Shortened Tissues & Restore Neuromuscular Control
Once restrictions are reduced, we systematically lengthen tight structures and begin re-establishing proper communication between your nervous system and your muscles. This phase bridges the gap between passive treatment and active movement.
Techniques Used
- Assisted and facilitated stretching
- Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
- Individualized home mobility programs
- Neuromuscular re-education exercises
- Sensory integration training
- Postural alignment work
Expected Outcome
Improved flexibility, restored joint range of motion, and beginning neuromuscular re-patterning.
Mobilize Affected Joints
Joint mobility is distinct from tissue flexibility. We assess and address restrictions specifically within the joint capsule using skilled joint mobilization techniques — and we teach you self-mobilization strategies to use at home between sessions.
Techniques Used
- Graded joint mobilizations (I–IV)
- Spinal manipulation (when appropriate)
- Peripheral joint mobilization
- Self-mobilization techniques for home use
- Traction and distraction techniques
- Functional mobility training
Expected Outcome
Restored joint mechanics, improved arthrokinematics, and sustained mobility between visits.
Relearn & Strengthen New Movement Patterns
The final and most critical phase: teaching your body to move correctly and building the strength to sustain those patterns under real-life demands. We focus on the stabilizing muscles most commonly overlooked — glutes, core, and scapular stabilizers — and progress to functional, goal-specific activities.
Techniques Used
- Gluteal & hip stabilization
- Core and lumbo-pelvic control
- Scapular stabilization & rotator cuff strengthening
- Functional movement training
- Gait re-education
- Balance and proprioceptive training
- Sport & activity-specific return-to-function
- Progressive home exercise program
Expected Outcome
Durable strength, confident movement, and the tools to stay well long after discharge.
Your Home Program is Half the Treatment
We never see home exercises as homework to be endured. A meaningful, manageable home program is a core part of your treatment — designed to reinforce what we do in-session and accelerate your progress.
We take the time to teach you each exercise thoroughly, ensure you can perform it safely, and adapt the program as your capacity grows. When you understand the "why" behind each movement, you'll actually do it.
After PT: ResiliFit Program
Finished with formal PT but not ready to exercise on your own? Our ResiliFit program bridges the gap — providing continued PT-guided fitness programming to keep you strong and independent.
